Stripes are rocking Marc Jacob’s world this season in a big way. Not only did they rule the runway at his mainline label on Monday night, but they also crept into his Marc by Marc Jacobs show yesterday too. There were deliciously wide-legged striped pyjama trousers, beige and black striped shirts for the boys and satin high-waisted stripy shorts and dresses for the girls. Paisley prints, patchworks and polka dots also ruled the beatnik-inspired collection that looked like an explosion in a fabric factory, albeit in the best possible way. Must-have accessories included bright patterned headwraps, ethnic scarves knotted around the neck and 80′s circular reflective sunglasses. Socks worn with sandals – normally fashion’s ultimate faux pas – looked surprisingly cool in bright, poppy colours. This was the ultimate good vibe collection guaranteed, as ever, to fly off the shelves.
