Storm the Palace.

Back in 2010′s The Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes Issue, i-D heralded a motley crew making a big name for themselves in The Big Smoke. A bunch of ball-bearing, deep-rolling, plank-pushing fiends going by the name of Palace Wayward Boys Choir, they were photographed by Alasdair McLellan and cross-examined by Jeremy Abbott (see here). Throw forward a couple of years and the Palace pack have reigned supreme over London’s skate revival, from tees to trucks, they’ve ticked all the boxes and had a right royal hoot along the way. An enigmatic bunch they don’t scream, they don’t shout and they definitely don’t hashtag (#PWBCFTW?) Dedicatedly reneging on routine, routinely dodging scheduled drops and the never-ending fashion season cycle, it takes a veritable detective to unearth the when, where and what of the Wayward world. One thing’s for certain though: for one week only they will be touting their wares from their new regal residency at 38 Stoke Newington Rd. Last night they dropped the draw-bridge and welcomed one and all into the temporary PWBC towers. i-D online’s Stephanie Sian Smith was on hand to get snap-happy. Caps, decks and garms galore, shop it while it’s hot.
PS Their web store launches on the 10th September for those not willing to roll the distance to Stokey.
