Rocking out in Jezebel and Toff with Terry Richardson and Charlotte Stockdale on the pages of i-D’s Just Kids Issue, Charleston-born Madison is a breath of mint julep fresh air. Scouted at sweet sixteen, Madison (Mado to her friends back home) proved she’s not just a pretty face when she put modelling on hold to burn the midnight oil and graduate high school early. This year, at eighteen, she flew to New York to sign with Marilyn and within a few weeks was storming the runway as an exclusive for Prada’s AW12 show. With a penchant for country music, competitive cheerleading and the beach, this all-American beauty is the peanut butter to our jelly. Here she talks to i-D online about Saved By The Bell, first grade, and being in love with love.

What’s your earliest memory? My first day of school. I was so incredibly shy, and I cried the whole way there and throughout the day. Eventually my mom had to leave work to come pick me up early! What TV shows did you watch as a child? The Amanda Show, All That, Hey Arnold, reruns of Saved By The BellWhen you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was really young, I wanted to be an astronaut. As I grew up, I realised how much I loved to write, like my mother, and I wanted to do something in the journalism field. Then later I narrowed it down to either writing for a magazine or becoming the next Erin Andrews on the sidelines! What was it like shooting with Terry Richardson for i-D? It was amazing. I got to jump around, smile, laugh, and most of all, I got to be me. I had so much fun and would love to do it again! What’s the best thing about being young today? The greatest thing about being young today is all the possibilities! Are you in love? I’m in love with being in love! What’s your perfect date? A boat ride to Shem Creek for a nice dinner in Charleston, SC. With country music playing the whole way. How do you feel when you look in the mirror? Good morning world. Now I need some coffee…
