This summer’s model of the moment, 20-year-old Cara Delevingne’s dark brown brows and arctic stares have helped her to eclipse Edie, Georgia and Suki as the face of young London. When we walk to our neighbourhood burrito spot, a 50-foot Cara smoulders back at us in Burberry, from the top of the Silicon Roundabout. When we open our papers she’s papped in 4x4s with Harry Styles, when we pop into town she’s hanging around in a black Dimepiece beanie, when we chill in the cinema she’s turning Keira Knightley’s Anna Karenina well green with jealousy. In Paris, Cara stole the show at Chanel AW12 with those milkshake-thick eyebrows encrusted in sequins, stalking through the crystalline palace like an icy tortoise princess from Karl Lagerfeld’s most feverish night visions – and she also looks toasty hot in a pink Grimes wig for Chanel Cruise 2013! Blonde and beautiful, brought up in Belgravia, taught at Bedales and with a taste for Mavado’s ‘I’m So Special‘, Cara Delevingne is West London royalty through and through. She stars in Terry Richardson and Charlotte Stockdale’s fun-filled shoot for our Pre-Fall 2012, The Just Kids issue, dressing like a yeti and pulling faces with Charlotte Free, so we asked her all about her youth…

What’s your earliest memory? Coming out the womb! Joking it was getting naked in the super market and my mum chasing me round.

Did you play dress up with your sister’s clothes when you were little? It was more my Mum’s weird 80′s clothes with zips and shoulder pads or just normal dress-up clothes which I wore everyday eg Spiderman, Buzz Lightyear, Action Man… a dog!

What TV shows did you like to watch as a kid? Saved by the Bell! Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The Magic Roundabout. Dexter’s Laboratory.

What was your favorite childhood game? Twister, Monopoly, Hide and Seek or Stuck in the Mud.

Whose poster did you hang on your bedroom wall? SPICE GIRLS! And the Chelsea football team.

When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up? A dentist or a superhero. Or both.

How were you scouted? I went to school with Sarah Doukas’s [owner of Storm models] daughter and she spotted my sister Poppy first and then waited for me

What has been your career highlight to date? Doing my first workshop for the movie Anna Karenina with all actors, most of whom I have looked up to my whole life. I have never been so happy.

Do you still hang see your childhood friends? They are the people that keep me sane and grounded. I owe them my life!

What was it like shooting with Terry for i-D? Shooting i-D with Terry was so much fun. He lets you be yourself but also manages to extenuate those weird parts of you. Have no idea how but it’s pretty amazing.

There was lots of girls in the i-D shoot are you friends with any of them outside of work? Charlotte Free is quite like me, that i-D shoot was the first time I had met her but we got on so well. She is wicked

What do you like to do for fun? Have fun! Whatever way possible. Singing and dancing with friends and music.
