Taking his audience on a psychedelic journey through grungy and rebellious trends, Henry Holland’s SS13 collection was a total “Buzz Kill”. Attracting a celebrity #FROW, titillating enough to set the Mail Online sidebar alight, Kelly Osbourne, Pixie Geldof, Nicola Roberts, Alexa Chung and Poppy Delevingne clapped through the Ramsbottom-born designer’s latest offerings. Located in a Soho car park, a series of gunmetal, burgundy and chartreuse shaded outfits sashayed down the stone cold catwalk, paying homage to all things grunge. Nail artist to the stars, Sophy Robson buffed-up a storm backstage painting rainbows across each model’s perfectly manicured paws, Adam Reed left hair long, loose and dishevelled and Vogue’s Rosie Voguel cast a no messin’ crew of models that looked bad for all the right reasons. Highlights included a Barbie pink, ‘Bitch’ emblazoned tee; bejewelled, oversized beanie hats; silk tie-dye dungarees; midriff revealing belly tops (nod to Miss Spears); and a metallic leather jacket. Dispatching each girl out to a high energy soundtrack compiled by The Misshapes, Iggy Azalea’s attitude-laden beats themed the latter part of the show, replacing Azealia Banks as Mr Holland’s poster girl for hotness. Referencing strong street trends, Henry successfully created a uniform which will be sure to influence next season’s high street trends and inspire future editorials.
