“The world of Armani is multifaceted,” began the show notes for Giorgio Armani’s spring/summer presentation… The show was titled “kaleidoscope”, an object known for reflecting light, which inspired the collection with shimmer and iridescence, whilst taking a cue from outer space and starry nights. The opening looks of 3/4 length trousers and casual tunics in languid organza were mercurial in their sheen and movement. It was there in all the otherworldly fabrics. Armani deftly introduced colour: jade and turquoise, abstracting it with the soft grey to evoke a hazy futurism and the shimmer of distant galaxies. And there’s no one who does the navy of a night sky like Giorgio Armani, for evening he trapped entire constellations of dazzling sparkles on draped tunics, floating full skirts, and sheer shawls for a truly dazzling finale. Cosmic clothes for dreamy stargazers.
