Putting the ‘show’ back into the season, Dsquared2 was fun, sexy and entertaining. An 80’s photo shoot with massive production was recreated as the setting while a video of Dean and Dan hard at work set the tone. Then Charlotte Tilbury and Sam McKnight appeared on stage doing make-up and hair as flash bulbs went crazy. To open the show, model of the moment Cara Delevingne burst onto the runway with sex appeal, personality and swag, the kind we haven’t seen since the Supers. The collection itself was a nod to the best of the 80’s and early 90’s. Black leather shorts, jackets, waist coats and motor cycle hats were teamed with T-shirts paying homage to the 90’s obsession with logos. The double D duo branded their surname Caten, in tongue-in-cheek similarity to Cartier and Chanel. Chunky gold jewellery was layered on thick, playing up to what Dsquared2 is known best for: being unapologetically loud, sexy and in your face. While others reference the slightly seedier and darker elements of that era, Dsquared2 celebrated its glamour, sex appeal and Super Models.
