Following the epic opening of the new store on Regent Street, Burberry’s SS13 Prorsum show had an equally impressive effect. With the buzz around the store being the state of the art technology, Christopher Bailey amped up the hype with his show, streaming it live back in the new store for London shoppers to enjoy. The show itself was a proper British spectacular, held in the bright and airy space at Kensington Gardens, it was quite a celebration with some of our Team GB favorites in attendance; Victoria Pendleton, Andy Murray and Pete Reed. The collection itself celebrated British femme fatale, with the leading lady oozing 40′s glamour and a pretense of composure but with a hint eccentricity. Bailey added this interest to the polish and finesse of the collection by manipulating shape and silhouette, teaming lingerie with outerwear and polishing off each look with a red lip. Capes featured heavily, short in stature and bright in colour, the classic trench was given a voluminous sleeve and corset details were incorporate into jackets. The candy colours and metallics were key and really added to the already thrilling spectacle.
