i-D kick starts the new season with a celebration of what it means to be young today. Youth isn’t determined by what age you are. Nor what stage of life you’re in. It isn’t to do with experience, nor responsibilities. Feeling youthful is finding joy and pleasure in everything you do, whatever your age.
In a collaborative shoot with China’s Modern Weekly, photographer Chen Man picked everyday young people who work in the traditional industries as representatives of the future of China. In the coming days we will be profiling some of the bright, young things selected by Chen Man but first we’re offering a sneak peek behind-the-scenes on the epic shoot. From being commissioned by i-D Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Terry Jones to packing out newsstands the world over, Chen Man talks us through her experiences.
