When the annual War and Peace Show rolled into Kent this summer we dispatched i-D contributing photographer Marius Hansen and stylist-cum-designer Harris Elliott to the green grass of Hythe to take to the fashion frontline and shoot for the top. “The world’s largest military vehicle spectacular”, the show offers militaria maniacs the chance to catch a glimpse of retired battle vehicles, meet veterans of the field and rummage rails of vintage military issue garms. With a penchant for all things khaki’d, camo’d and bunker-ready, Harris Elliott was the perfect man to style up a 21st century, city street soldier at the fair. Set against the backdrop of tanks, weathered wigwams and webbing galore, the ever-honest lens of Mr Marius Hansen captures the season’s sizzling trend for military wear with simplicity and elegance. Lock and load.
