Distinguishable by his trademark cap and glasses, fronting bare attitude, Theophilus London is the Brooklyn rap-star who likes to shoot pool in Efes and eat chicken at Nandos.

Performing at Wireless Festival last weekend alongside fellow rap artist and Brooklynite A$AP Rocky, Theophilus Musa London charmed throngs of girls with his smooth vocals and captivating stage presence. Gigging about NYC from the age of sixteen before releasing a series of free mixtapes online, Theo’s rise to recognition has been steady and well-deserved. Inspired by a whole bunch of genres and musicians including Marvin Gaye, Michael Jacskon and Kraftwerk, his trademark techniques sample well-known melodies, adding clever quirks into his own signature, electronic hip-hop sounds. Constantly push forward, perpetually creating new music and evolving his sound to the next stage, every one of his quartet of mixtapes is totally different from the last. Currently on a whirlwind world tour, every country is after a little bit of the man named after our very own capital. i-D Online caught up with Mr LDN and fired a pop quiz at him about our big smoke. And if you were wondering just what Theophilus stands for, look down… They’re his words, not ours!
