As the eyes of the fashion pack were fixed on i-D’s hometown for the inaugural London Collections: Men, many designers who in the past have tussled for a slot on the jammed single day of menswear really shone when given space to breathe. Omar Kashoura was one such success story, very deliberately shifting into a new gear he presented a dreamy wardrobe packed with refined, considered and wholly commercial pieces, worn by a cast of models that represented the SS13 trend for a masculine but fashion fond gent. A definite highlight of the weekend, fingers crossed he’ll be packing out rails here, there and everywhere soon.
Given Omar filled us with holiday spirit, we’ve chosen five piece from the collection that we’d gladly pack into our old kitbags and hit the road with…
The belted trouser suit
Looseness and length on top and bottom created a broader, softened silhouette which was juxtaposed with a belted waist and collarless jacket. Good for breakfast (post-yoga of course) by the hotel pool.
The one button blazer
Came in a discreet print and white options, each time worn with wide-legged trousers. Perfect for dinner under the stars or in a desert bedouin.
The knit
The height of Omar’s discreet luxe look, handy for an evening’s stroll through the souks.
The fedora
A modern take on the travelling must-have. Perfect for sheltering one’s eyes from the midday sun.
The beard
The best of the lot sported by Omar himself, no man should leave home next summer without one. Better get growing lads!
Last week as Omar prepared, i-D online snuck into his studio to lift the lid on what goes on behind his closed door. See what we found here.
