Neil Barrett is a brave man, showing on an outside runway at the grand Palazzo del Senato, under ominous grey skies. With the rain somehow kept at bay, Barrett’s men managed to balance masculine tailoring with fluidity; no mean feat on both counts. A strong athletic vibe prevailed, with perfect padded varsity jackets, baseball jerseys, roomy knee-length basketball shorts and gym-class sweatshirts in enveloping neoprene. In a season of shorts, Barrett’s version are precisely oversize and cut from Rayon to enforce their expert tailoring. Regatta stripes are updated into casual two pieces with scratched claw marks and backpacks kept modern in matchy fabrics. Effortlessly luxe.
