Yesterday Martine Rose nailed a genuinely exciting collection. Full of ideas and intelligent design, backstage she told i-D online she had been inspired by Bernini and consequently set about altering the appearance and form of fabric to be used in the show. What resulted was a fresh show of intriguing silhouettes and sculptural details. Bleached out double denim came oversized and billowing; sleeves came stiffened by neoprene; and pastel striped shirting jarred convincingly alongside acid orange. Overall effect? Serene, well-dressed bank-robber’s with a penchant for 90′s vintage tees. Bravo!
