Darkness descended over SS13 as DSquared2 transformed their show-space into a dimly lit basement club, filled with a parading army of buff, tanned boys fronting bare brawn. As the first of the models stormed through the sinister space a series of loose-fitting, low-hanging blazers and overcoats draped over broad shoulders, covered casual, short-sleeved shirts, denim waistcoats, skinny ties and fitted, black trousers. Layering up looks, accessorising with long, tangled necklaces reminiscent of Pete Doherty’s signature style circa 2006, leopard print and leather biker-boy caps then emerged, peppering the label’s overly masculine themes with a camp edge. Flashes of flamingo pink then lightened the brutal metal fronted, knee high boots and brothel creepers which cemented the trademark DSquared2 aesthetic for this season. A brave look, designed for a man who takes style seriously, this was a wearable collection sure to influence the high street.
