Christopher Raeburn began his show by treating his audience to a film starring his animal of the season, the owl. With a soundtrack that played on the senses and sent goose pimples trickling through the room it was a perfect calming opener after a weekend of running from show to show, each accompanied by heart-pumping acoustics. The majestic owl was a perfect muse and created a fitting opening to a show that found its impact in quiet unexpected elegance. Styled by i-D’s Fashion Editor, Elgar Johnson, the show focused on outerwear, Raeburn found the perfect balance between utility and style. Strict tailoring was introduced to parkas and gilets made with Raeburn’s signature specialist fabrics. Sheer windbreakers were layered over bright patterned tees and polo shirts giving a beautiful filtered effect to the bold colours. There was a definite air of calm on leaving The BFC’s home for the weekend, Hospital Club. A truly enjoyable experience and an even more so a truly enjoyable collection.
