This season the Ann Demeulemeester boy is super intense, with a trance-like stare into nothingness, silver chokers, and hair shaved-off or brushed back and up; they look like they belong to a beautiful cult, the casting is truly inspired. As for the clothes, comfort and decadence are once again the order of the day, as seen in the carefree, flowing silhouettes of the silky trousers – or tailored parachute pants – that appear to expand as the show progresses. The last look out, in particular, is an outstanding black gothic blend of baggy bottoms, buttoned-up jacket under a floor-length coat, and a long leather scarf winding its way around the body. Most sumptuous of all are the fabrics. Satin patterns appear almost holographic, digital prints bloodied and baroque, cottons flocked like Regency wallpaper. Everything is purple… or orange. It’s sort of Pre-Raphaelite, and sort of vampire, and just really trill.
