Last week i-D pal and contributing photographer Rebecca Thomas masterminded a cracking canine-heavy affair at East London watering hole, The Nelson’s Head. A grand fete featuring some of the fabbest dogs in town, one particularly pretty pooch going by the name of Prescilla caught Rebecca’s well-tuned eye. Here, Miss Thomas recounts the day’s events for i-D online and gives a glimpse at Prescilla’s fashion fabulous pals.

“Last Saturday was the fourth dog fancy dress party at the Nelson’s Head pub in East London and this year the event went high fashion and regal, with Lulu Kennedy MBE taking on the role of head judge. All the dogs looked amazing darling, but the judging team of Lulu, Charlie Porter, Charlie Harrington, Ben Reardon and Princess Julia decided to award Priscilla the poodle top spot. Priscilla’s personal dresser, Hermione de Paul (who also moonlights dressing Florence Welch and Beyoncé when she has a night off from Priscilla) was over the moon to win a year’s health insurance courtesy of Beige Magazine. Priscilla turned out to be a worthy winner, as her and two canine pals were the last dogs standing, after winning she decided to stay at the Nelson’s, celebrating with an outfit change and hobnobbing with her fashionable friends. Priscilla’s winning outfit was partly inspired by Louise Gray’s SS 12 collection with it’s pom pom motif, but she later unwound in a French maid’s dress and baseball cap, tapping into another SS12 trend for fetish wear. Luckily Louise was on hand with some last minute styling tips – surely the best connected dog in fashion!”
