In our Summer 2012, The Lights, Camera, Action Issue i-D introduces a cast of characters who embody the magic of MHL. Here, we shine the spotlight on one of the talented team.

Caitlin Gerard, 23, Los Angeles

Where are you from and what do you do? I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I act and attend UCLA. I am majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing. Describe yourself… silly, sister, determined, curious, unpredictable. What will you be listening to this summer? My sister lives in Paris so I’m on a French kick, Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot, France Gall, Francois Hardy. The now and then soundtrack. I like to dance to Tallest Man on Earth, Joe Black Lewis and the Honey Bears, The Black Keys, BB King and Chuck Berry. For hot smoldering nights, Karen Dalton, The Andrews Sisters, Missisippy John Hurt, and Duke Ellington. Apart from music, what else will you be listening to this summer? The birds and the bees, the traffic outside my apartment windows. KCRW. Advice and criticism. If someone were to make a movie of your life, what would the soundtrack be? I always imagine what it would feel like to have amazing music follow me around. You Gotta move, Rolling Stones, The Fairest Of The Seasons, Nico, Wild World, Cat Stevens, I Feel Free, Cream, Super Fly, Curtis Mayfield, Dance To The Music, Sly And The Family Stone, Jazz À GoGo, France Gall, Mein Freund Der Baum, ALEXANDRA, Comptine D’un Autre Été, Yann Tierson. If you were a song, what would you be? Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones.
