Think YouTube is just for watching “Charlie Bit Me” in autotune or R.Kelly’s “Trapped In A Closet?” Think again! If you fancy free HBO quality entertainment with the click of a mouse, then listen up!

WIGS is a brand new YouTube channel created by filmmaking masters Jon Avnet (Black Swan, Fried Green Tomatoes) and Rodrigo Garcia (Albert Nobbs, Mother And Child), that emphasises female-led web shorts and series. “Each face tells a story” and with over 98 episodes in the can, showcasing the talents of actors as various as Jennifer Garner, Jason Isaacs, Julia Stiles, Michael C. Hall, and Dakota Fanning, it seems pretty certain that WIGS has a little bit of something for everyone. Impressive talent, exciting narrative, new media, and some sexy male eye candy: there’s certainly enough to peak the interest of anybody with seven minutes spare.
Premiering today (Monday May 14th), WIGS launches onto the world wide web with ‘Jan‘, which tells the story of a twenty-something (Caitlin Gerard, pictured right) navigating the brutal and competitive world of photography co-starring Virginia Madsen and Stephen Moyer. All you need is a computer to watch and with the click of a button the rest is totally free. This is the future of entertainment (fear not, it has nothing to do with synthetic hair) so don’t go brushing this one off!
