Good times with a crocodile. The never-ending party, by definition, continues as Lacoste L!VE launch their SS12 campaign and we chat to the number one party animal and new age Crocodile Dundee, Cobrasnake. He’s deadly with a digital camera.
The chief suspects for spring/summer are a cheerleader, a roller girl and a pair of boy scouts in a preppy but pretty collection not for the colour-shy. Leopard print collars and dresses, cricket whites, short shorts and some check for good measure are the cornerstones of the collection. In addition, this season Lacoste have taken their brain to another dimension with the New York ‘unconventional talent’ strand, street cast in Brooklyn. Shooting short profiles of nice people doing interesting things, the campaign features street tape artist Aakash Nihalini, Amanda Warner from electro duo MNDR and Leyla Safai from the hip hop group/ ice cream van travellers HeartsChallenger – more on this to come!
Mark Hunter, aka The Cobrasnake (don’t question it) is pretty unconventional himself. Globe-trotting with the brand over the last few years, Mark has photographed and street cast every Lacoste L!VE campaign, having as much, if not more fun than his subjects along the way. He was sitting on a floral sofa sipping a bottle of Perrier when i-D onlinne Skyped him to chat about the campaign, getting the best out of the party and shaping-up for the summer. First the worst, second the best, third the one with the hairy chest.
Go hunting for crocodiles at the Lacoste L!VE stores on Newburgh Street and Boxpark in Shoreditch.
