Religiously cladding some of the finest plank-flipping feet in the world for the past 45 years, Vans have rolled into North London this month, opening a new 200 square metre store on Camden High Street.
Four and a half decades in business, renowned for their mastery of skate shoes, Vans offer up a feast of fashions for guys, gals and ‘youth’ too in their new Camden emporium.
Keen to find out what keeps brand Vans speeding along the high street highway. i-D online popped by their new HQ, snapping and chatting with some of the staff along the way.

How long have you been working for Vans? Just over a month. I’ve been lucky enough to help set the shop up, so I’m proud to watch it take its first steps in the retail world! What are you wearing? A men’s ‘Gage’ vest, my own jeans and a pair of Vans Era 58 Cali’s. Describe your perfect pair of Vans? Chukka Lo’s. Super comfy, neat, simple pair of Vans that last a life time! What do you get up to when you’re not working for Vans? Main passion is snowboarding. What’s next? To build Vans up around the London/Camden area, to show people that not only are we a cool brand, but the customer service and quality of product is just as good!

My old Rowley XL3s. What do you get up to when you’re not working for Vans? Playing MW3 and designing/making furniture. Who would you be most excited to serve in the new store? My future wife above any celebrity.
