“Chrissie first started working with JaguarShoes Collective in 2008. I’ve always found her distinctive style captivating, touching on themes of nature and humanism, her work presents the world in a beautiful light. She has the rare ability to make the mundane magical. ‘Reflections of Alternate Dimensions’ is the first time Chrissie has exhibited her video work. She had been producing visuals for our joint club night for a few years. As with all her work, I found them to be completely mesmerising and wanted to bring them to a wider audience. The show features a series of films projected and reflected to form a giant, two story, moving tapestry. The work really lends itself to a functioning space like DreamBagsJaguarShoes, as people move around the venue they naturally engage with the work, adding to the excitement of the installation and reinforcing the feeling of perfect synergy when we collaborate with Chrisse.
Reflections of Alternate Dimensions is open at DreamBagsJaguarShoes, 32-36 Kingsland Road, London E2 from now until the 28th of May.
