Isabel Marant. Paris, 02/03/12

For all that critics are effusing about the Americana of the new Isabel Marant collection, it’s actually very Parisian too. It’s a genre with which the tousle haired, beautiful things tripping around the City of Lights consistently like to touch base by sourcing pieces from vintage stores and flea-markets. It’s all very Lou Doillon and co. meets Gram Parsons; masculine silhouette, laid back demeanor, long, bare legs… mixed with country and western y’all. And while we’re on the subject of Lou Doillon, her presence has been missed this fashion week. A little birdy tells us that she’s recording her debut solo album in a recording studio in the East of Paris. Exciting.
