Launching their very first UK standalone store with a night of music, mayhem and monkeying-arond, Scandi clothiers Monki have flung open their freshly polished doors.

Exploding onto the hallowed grounds of Central London’s fashionable Carnaby St, Monki welcomed party-goers over their threshold last night with a poptastic party featuring DJ’ettes Yasmin and Icona Pop. Opening a cave like high-street space, oozing Scandinavian style, the boutique’s interior decor is inspired by the ocean; decked-out with shipwrecked carousels and azure coloured curiosities, an all-girl lineup of artists and DJs took turns behind the shop-floor’s straight-out-the-box decks, playing crowd stirring sets which got everyone dancing. i-D online popped down to the party to chat with the freshly recruited Monki massive to find out who they are, what they’re wearing and what they get up to when they aren’t working their new 9 to 5s.
