The first part in our new i-Work series focussed on the folk behind the best storefronts in the land, we catch-up with the A Team working in the latest addition to Shoreditch’s retail treasure trove, Carhartt, Work In Progress.

Longtime delivers of straight-down-the-line, pretty and practical workwear, Carhartt make a sartorially savvy move with their new offering. With bespoke joiners Brushplanes doing a prim and proper job on the shop-fit, working their magic on some pretty wonderful woodwork in the store, a perfectly simple and discreet stage is set for the Carhartt WIP garms to do the talking. With a bunch of fresh new offerings packed into the shop to mark the momentous occasion, there’s reasons aplenty to brace the wild, wild East for a visit. Teaming-up with Japanese brand Neighborhood, Carhartt have produced a limited edition tee and an umbrella manufactured by London Undercover in a pretty major monochrome colour way. And with the store popping-up just around the corner from i-D Towers our lunch hour shopping trips are looking pretty packed with Carhartt joining fellow ‘ditch dwellers, MHL, Present, Goodhood, APC, Sunspel and Hostem! If yesterday evening’s launch party is anything to go by the store will be attracting queues around the block in no time and with that we issue i-D online’s top-tip for weekend ahead: hot-foot it to East London’s budding menswear mecca A$AP! But before you dash, catch a breath with some of the Carhartt crack team putting the shake into Shoreditch High Street.
