This season saw i-D cover star Victoria Beckham further explore her by-now trademarked body-conscious dress. These high-voltage dresses oozed understated sex appeal with long, lean lines, neat elbow-length sleeves and buttoned-up necklines. The sculpted internal corsetry of the earliest collections are gone and have been replaced with rib-hugging canvas panels that lend both structure and support. Khaki dresses snaked below the knee and had what looked like multiple parachute straps across the back. Sleeve cuffs were artfully detached and gold buttons were placed with expert precision. i-D’s fave item, an army-green coat with military style buttons and black python lapel. This, Beckham’s eighth outing for her mainline collection is testament to her growing confidence and just how far she has come as a respected fashion designer.
