For AW12, Ter et Bantine’s Creative Director Manuela Arcari presented a modern take on 90s grunge. Models navigated a purple and blue-lit runway dressed in wide-brimmed Buffalo hats, long, lean silhouettes and fuzzy furry shoes and boots. Playing masculine against feminine, Manuela developed her trademark no frills style with boxy tailored trousers, leather cream T-shirts exaggerated around the hips, wraparound wool skirts with thick leather piping, slim-fitting black jumpsuits with smart leather pockets, and an oversized jumpsuit in neoprene. The emphasis was firmly on texture, and there was plenty of delicious fabrics to get touchy feely with; boiled wool, fuzzy faux fur, neoprene, leather and coated raw cotton added depth. While the muted colour palette with flashes of burnished orange affirmed Ter et Bantine’s position at the forefront of classic Italian dressing with a twist.
