Priestess NYC

Fast and full-on, PRIESTESS NYC’s snappy video showcases some walloping good fashion for a noble cause.

Cody Ross is the cult-proprietor behind PRIESTESS NYC, a unisex fashion brand that pushes a zany and modernist oeuvre. He recently teamed up with videographers Brittany Kubat and Charles Billot to create a short video that touts a thumpin’ good cause — to promote the Antwerp-based charity Designers Against Aids (DAA) in its quest to quell HIV/AIDS through savvy educational efforts and outreach initiatives that target youth culture. Inspired by the seesawing vectors of fashion, sexuality and physicality and paying homage to the spirit of unisex streetwear, this video collides grunge and glamour and showcases a couple of hot-to-trot muses locked in a swirl of vamping, courting and cavorting! The eye-popping vignette, styled by Aussie transplant Lisa Nguyen, embodies an all-out ACE cinematic vision complete with shape-shifting silhouettes, pulsating strobe and a fierce sonic palette that pummels your synapses and makes you want to click, click, click for more. Proceeds from the clothing go toward helping DAA’s educational arm and to help make a material impact on those affected. Consider this: in 2011 alone over 2.7 million people around the world contracted HIV, and every 40 minutes in the USA someone gets infected. Last year in Britain over 6,200 people were newly diagnosed. Watch the video, check out DAA, help educate, stay informed and get inspired.
