The last time Phoebe English stopped by i-D towers to be shot for the Whatever The Weather Issue, we had her perched on a tree branch for over an hour so we were pretty stoked we were still allowed through the doors of her first solo show presenting her AW12 collection! This latest bombshell from Phoebe was all layers of texture, texture and texture with rubber mesh cages encasing industrial felted wool, sheer damp latex, and a sporty touch from elasticated waist bands and sleeves. Muted black tones dominated so as not to distract from surface and structure, before shades of the softest pinks charged down the runway. This impeccably intricate, yet boldly constructed collection was set to the soundtrack of previous i-D i-N Session subject Gabriel Bruce, his oh so deep voice and soothing rhythms which effortlessly fitted with Phoebe’s vision.
