Moschino Cheap and Chic showed in London for the first time yesterday with a pastel pink collection of patchwork, prints and pearls. The relocation was a bold move from the Italian fashion house, and further proof that 2012 is set to be a stellar year for Blighty. Creative Director Rossella Jardini explained backstage that the move was in keeping with Moschino Cheap and Chic’s aesthetic, and the ensuing collection proved why. Named ‘Make up your life’, designer Francesca Rubino presented a sugar-coated interpretation of London’s Swinging Sixties. Cosmetic prints plastered puff ball skirts and cocktail dresses. Patchwork lace dresses came in a delicious assortment of candy colours, while fuzzy fur boleros and bags added a cute yet kooky edge. New Brit talent Lianne La Havas took to her guitar and ushered in the collection, a new instalment to London Fashion Week that we hope is going to stay.
