Meadham Kirchhoff’s wonderfully choreographed spectacles are always an LFW highlight, and this one wowed the week’s coolest crowd and set Twitter alight – it was bonkers, fun fun fun and utterly amazing! The Meadham boys’ SS12 collection was all Hole and grunge, but AW12 was all Abba and disco queens… Models walked through a psychedelic light show wearing rainbows of stripes and checks, feathered headbands, paint-smeared faces, synthetic hair, sparkling ruby heels and then took a twirl across the illuminated dancefloor. Some girls spun, some Vogued to the camera, some threw snowfalls of glitter confetti up in the air (and down into our Topshop coffees!). Highlights included twirling tiger tail boas in Sunny D orange, furry purple hands, a long-haired coat with a monster-muppet face, and a washed-out denim jacket embroidered with flowers and emoticon hearts with a bad attitude. And, in one final flourish, the last ladies out were painted all over in glossy, shiny shades of primary colours. So crackers and sooooo joyous, it left everyone with a :-) on their face.
