First in command, East London based designer Katie Eary dispatched a lethal, military troupe of Orc inspired soldiers down her runway this season. Playfully experimenting with sinister but fantastical themes, each intricately constructed look was built uniformly from black mesh and patent leathers, blackberry knits and mock croc. Bound and moulded into oversized armoury, whip stitch trims and layered partridge feathers added a more decorative touch to the otherwise functional and oversized silhouettes. Accessorised by man-size rucksacks, nutcracker tin can caps and prosthetic elfin ears, hers was a wardrobe fit for the demonic likes of Edward Sissorhands. Discussing her creative vision, Katie explained, “This was an extremely self-indulgent collection, I didn’t do it with sales or anyone in mind, I wanted to just make a truly mind blowing collection, couture style!”

Sat front row in his second day of fashion shows in London this season was an impressed Kanye West. Filling the Town Hall Hotel with a select crowd, a short, monochrome video presentation opened Eary’s show to the sounds of Yeezy and JayZ’s side project ‘watch the throne’ whilst Katy sat proud upon her own.
