i-N Session: Howler

A bunch of handsome boys in a band making surf rock music may not be the stuff of rocket science, but goddamn, Howler do sound good.

Gearing up for their first SXSW showcase this March, Minneapolis-living, internationally treading fine-named fivesome, Graves, Mayes, Nygaard, Petrek and France Camp are on the cusp of breaking through. Recently signing a four album deal with London-based label Rough Trade, the band have shifted every last ticket on their recent UK tour, playing support to post-punk quartet The Vaccines. Definitely not media trained, these defiant lads make crotch-grabbing tunes, disheveled and oblivious to the world outside of their raucous bubble, they’re blissfully content challenging their minds matters more non-intellectual. Making music about about girls, getting ‘loaded’ and shirking any form of mature responsibility, i-D online caught-up with the band down at their recent gig in London’s The Lexington and got treated to a loud, lewd i-N session.
