Inspired by Ryan McGinley’s iconic nudes and the Mayan calendar, Felder and Felder’s apocalyptic AW12 collection predicted the coming of a new age. Embellished, fringed and beaded, each garment’s beautifully considered detail perfectly complimented the twin sisters’ rugged 90′s grunge references and took the label in a more mature direction. Spontaneous and confident, the rich, autumnal palette featured on georgette technoprint blouses, figure hugging leotards, clinging knit dresses and signature skater skirts. Experimenting with bold flashes of metallic and eye popping tangerines, blonde, ethereal waifs sashayed down the BFC runway to the laid back and funky sounds of Peter Hook and Trevor Jackson. Effortless and low key, the Felders’ trademark Stepford wives references remained prevalent in each look but with a little more sex dashed in for good measure. Full volume femininity, Felder and Felder’s show notes read “Give in and enjoy the moment”. Don’t mind if we do.
