“The style is pure Jackie Stewart”, Trussardi’s Creative Director, Umit Benan told i-D online.

Picking up the Formula 1 driver’s legendary look and attitude, the catwalk was filled with lengthy sideburns, Ron Burgundy moustaches (photos of whom were pinned to moodboards backstage) and aviators, imprinting that 70s, happy go hippy vibe. Well-heeled shoes in snakeskin, white chinos with high waists and printed shirts were worn by models and slightly older men, whose facial hair was very, very real. To the soundtrack of ‘Take It Easy’, they chilled out down the runway, flashing smiles and ‘I’m the man’ hand gestures, some carrying giant bottles of champagne. “It’s Jackie Stewart off the track”, continued Benan “when he’s won the race, taken a shower and is ready to have fun with his friends”. The initial idea came from gloves, he continues, “I was thinking about how men used to drive in gloves, which I find very aggressive and masculine, and I don’t see it anymore, so I wanted to bring it back!” And so he did, in spectacular style!
