This is the 30th anniversary for one of the modern superpowers in menswear, Stone Island.
Stone Island is a brand that owners Carlo and Sabina Rivetti have never had to shout about. Instead they have waited for people to come to them and boy have they come. A favourite among football fans, they were always going to branch out to further fields. There are few brands I can name that ooze masculinity and luxury like Stone Island, in fact I’m not sure how you would even begin to start to combine the two. Stone Island created and now own this formula. A loyal cult following has led to the brand being cooler than ice and with the creative super team of &Son founders Nick Griffith and super stylist i-D consultant fashion director Simon Foxton in tow, this story still has a lot of telling to go.
