“The parody of performance, the parody of power”, Miuccia Prada told i-D online. Putting the ‘show’ back into the season, the sterling Italian fashion house did something special.

“We didn’t think they would all say yes”, Miuccia said of the nine guest stars in her show. Some swaggering, some straight-faced (the parody of performance), no less than Willem Dafoe, Gary Oldman, Adrien Brody, Jamie Bell and more closed the show on the gigantic red carpet, with applause through the roof. It was like the final scene of any great film where it all comes together and the music builds in a crescendo and some spectacular master plan is realised. For this, the models and superstars (styled by inimitable i-D contributor Olivier Rizzo) wore oversized regal coats at changing-guard length in camels, navies, reds and blacks, complete with badges (the parody of power) and interjected with a few clinical whites in shirt and short combinations. Backstage Adrien Brody told i-D, “I feel very regal indeed in my attire. I’ve known Miuccia for a long time and I’m a fan of the brand anyway so this was a very fun thing to do”.
