Inspired by 80s street photography, American teenagers and hip hop heroines Roxanne Shanté, Salt-N-Pepa and Monie Love, photographer Piczo and stylist Eiji Takahashi present women you wouldn’t mess with in a fenced graffitied sports court. “We wanted to over-indulge and show the strong, almost euphoric state of womanhood”, Piczo said. Bringing back the Croydon face lift and turning the spotlight to white socks, these girls would kiss their teeth and clench their fists in pretty knuckledusters, riding circles around you!
