Neil Barrett. Milan, 14/01/12

“I was going for oversized outerwear, whether a duffle coat or a parka, sheep skins, leathers, whatever, with really stick skinny legs underneath”, Neil Barrett told i-D.

Neil Barrett’s models strode down the runway either side of industrial fencing wearing hooded jackets with leather sleeves, metallic and printed jumpers layered over buttoned up shirts and polo necks. The stick skinny legs were dressed in ankle grazing trousers, some with a sport luxe finish. Smart boys with style. Famed for his soundtracks, Barrett chose an experimental mix from Jamie xx to echo the setting – “this is a side track for the trains, so we tried to make it industrial chic, finding music to blend with that raw surrounding”. Not just a show this week for Neil, he also dressed red hot actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt at the Golden Globes. Watch out for that fireball this year!
