The bowler hats and braces suggested ‘A Clockwork Orange’ – clean edit. Designer Paolo Gerani sent boys trying to become men down the catwalk, going through a hat phase in the process. Baby-faced models with hats tipped-up, as if looking on the bright side of life, stood in contrast to the heavy, very masculine silhouettes and trend for whiskers this season. Cable knit jumpers and close fitting ribbed cardigans went over slim fit trousers with a couple of bow ties thrown in for good measure. Blue jackets, blue blazers and blue duffle coats added to the boyish feel and an electric cello made for an atmospheric soundtrack.
