In bulky hoods, broad shoulders and sleeves that suggested some brawn, Italo Zucchelli presented his vision of ‘man 2012′.

“I always design for a man”, Mr Zucchelli told i-D, “someone who looks like a man, sounds like a man, is a man!” Using colour blocking in camel, grey and black, some cinched trouser legs hinted at sportswear, with rucksacks and puffer jackets cementing the theory – and then Zucchelli himself, “I like to create pieces that are precious but also easy, so I like to include a sporty element”. Using real alligator on hoods and bags, cashmere and precious leather, the details were the crux of this refined collection. Sitting front row was Joe Jonas, imagining his new wardrobe, as he told i-D, “I look at every piece and think about how I would incorporate it into my everyday life, and it always fits!”
