Scottish Borders to Miami Beach

To launch the collaborative capsule collection created by artist Liam Gillick alongside Pringle design director Alistair Carr, entitled ‘LIAMGILLICKFORPRINGLEOFSCOTLAND’, Pringle opened a pop-up store last week during Miami’s Art Basel.

To celebrate the opening, together with gallerists Eva Presenhuber and Casey Kaplan, Pringle brand ambassador and collaborator, Tilda Swinton hosted a cocktail party and dinner in the store. “Pringle has much more the attitude of a kind of art-curator house than some fashion brand,” Tilda explained to guests. “It’s about conversation, that’s constantly moving and constantly built by different people together. It’s not about one person hitting the mark. I love the brand, Pringle and the re-boot of the brand,” she continued. “Liam Gillick was in conversation with Alistair for a while, then they played together and came up with a real material to work with, which ended up being a pop up store and a range of accessories.”

The pop-up store will be open until December 28th in Miami’s design district and will travel to Hong Kong in April 2012.
