Red-y. Set. Go!

What’s black, white and red all over? Your new, philanthropically purchased Nike ensemble, of course!

In an attempt to raise awareness and encourage action, Nike plans to release several signature items in – you guessed it – red! This collection supports the sportswear giant’s on-going collaboration with (RED), an initiative which aims to combat and encourage education about HIV/AIDs. Through collaborations with some of the most successful brands in the world, Starbucks, Converse, Apple, American Express, and Gap, to name a few (RED) are striving towards an end to the transmission of AIDS from mother to child by the year 2015, (RED) can use all the help it can get. To date the charity have provided support to over 7.5 million people through their efforts and have contributed towards HIV/AIDS programs in Ghana, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, and Zambia. Since Nike has a knack for using sport to bring attention to global causes through the help of athletes, products, and legendary sporting moments, the partnership comes as no surprise. Launching today, World Aids Day, 1st December, in most Nike retailers and Nike stadiums throughout the world, get your hands on a Product (RED) Melton Destroyer jacket, or snag the Nike Zoom Meriwether technical boot complete with (RED) laces. Go (RED). Just Do It.
