The inimitable duchess of all things that go on after dusk, i-D dispatched Music Editor, Princess Julia to give us a run down of her favourite parties that went snap, crackle and POP in 2011…
Things continued apace during 2011; events, parties and happenings seemed to be on every week. My personal favorite haunts included regular DJ spots up at Vogue Fabrics, Dalston Superstore and of course my beloved George & Dragon. Traveling further afield highlights included regular visits to Horse Meat Disco, new club East Bloc and the various nights going on there including Gutterslut, Ponystep and Super Techno Party. Sink The Pink gave us some astounding moments with their monthly nights at The Bethnal Green Working Mens Club, Bistrotheque put on some wonderful cabaret from Jonny Woo to Bourgeois & Maurice and everything in between. The Lovely Jon Jo’s Hot Boy Dancing Spot pressed all my buttons, as did underground night Reeperbahn and Brave Exhibitions.
