i-Ntroducing: Origin London

Art before butter. Origin London is the homegrown, London based label that appreciates and promotes underground creativity, quality and individuality.

Seventeen-year-old Gabriel Noble established Origin after earning a tidy sum ticket touting with his mate one summer. Most often found clad in Woolrich, Carhartt, Dickies and British Remains, Gabriel’s a lad who appreciates simplicity and quality when it comes to his threads. His box fresh, sharp cut, limited designs speak for themselves but i-D online bagged a few words from Mr Noble about the whole kit and kaboodle and slipped behind-the-scenes on the whole affair… Change clothes. Press play. And go!

“This video is essentially about visiting everyone involved with Origin, from my grandma who sews on our labels to Costa who modelled for us. I also thought I should give the people who we support and who support us some t-shirts as a thanks. So we also visited Nate, who was one of the first to hit us up about our tees but who is also a great musician, his debut mixtape is out now. Lee has been helping out on Origin since we started and is a really close friend of mine too, he’s one of the most talented skaters I’ve seen for his age. In the middle of all of this I went to see my grandma who sews on our labels and a screen-printer called Osei over in Hackney. Finally we visited TIMC, a collective who designed two t-shirts in our latest collection. I make sure that everyone involved in production is UK or London based as supporting home-grown talent is a big part of what Origin is about.”
