i-DJ: Ratcatcher

NO CHEESE ALLOWED. Rhythm talking, bubble dub beat-seeker ‘Ratcatcher’ pipes progressive, minimal house tunes, tasty enough to encourage the filthiest of fun.

Releasing his first EP in October via Catapult Records, Rod Mullaney aka Ratcatcher, made the transition from full-time turntable club resident to certified recording artist with ease. Constantly inundated with requests to play his muted bass, tin tapped out tunes, Rhythm Talk graduate Rat started out life as one part of the Bigger Than Barry duo Chesus and Rodski. Progressing on to become part of the CRST crew, he then worked as part of the collective, celebrating releases on labels such as Doc Daneeka’s Ten Thousand Yen, Car Crash Set, No Hats No Hoodies, Donga’s Well Rounded Records and Herve’s Deep Thrills.

Still in the very early stages of his promising career, this alley scuttling, basement dwelling vermin might one day soon, make king Rat. Follow the tail to find him gnawing at the next Rhythm Talk event and keep an eye out for his remixes for Jamie Anderson & Owain K and Falcon Lake, set to drop on Granholme Recordings early next year.
