i-D NOW flung open its doors in honour of some of London’s most up-and-coming musical prospects. With farmer-cum-fresher-than-fresh-photographer Henry Goarse making the voyage south for the day, London’s platinum selling artists of tomorrow caused quite the stir.

Novella
Does Surfadelia exist? It certainly seems to be the best way to describe Novella. Three girls Suki, Hollie and Sophy have taken their music from each other’s bedrooms to a debut single success and a UK tour. What should a band be? All about the music? All about the look? Well, whatever it is Novella have it all. Best of all they claim they still want to be louder. Novella are bringing back girl power in 2011.

TOY
Limiting a band to one genre in this day and age is tough at the best of times. Tying TOY down to the constraints of music cataloguing is truly impossible. Taking inspiration from everything from Kraut Rock to early electro they have developed a very distinctive sound. Recently touring with The Horrors and having released their debut single; TOY are a band you’ll be hearing plenty more from.

Forms
Rock and roll is not dead, or at least that’s what Forms are telling us. The band’s debut performance at 1-2-3-4 Festival, quite a stage for a first gig, featured topless dancing, long hair thrashing and plenty of smashing and crashing, Forms are the real rock and roll outfit.
The History of Apple Pie
A band writing songs based on memorable guitar riffs, pitch perfect vocal harmonies that lead to well constructed pop songs, The History of Apple Pie seem to have found a neat niche. Through all the simplicity they claim their music is constructed with there is a touch of genius in how purely perfect their tunes sounds. Apple Pie, a pretty great recipe.
