Lace-up lads and get ready to sprint, a stylish squad of Brits are leading menswear into a super slick and experimental 2012.
Holding the torch high and making strides towards a more patched, panelled and quilted menswear landscape, it’s the talent featured in this shoot that’s helping thrust LFW’s menswear day onto the international fashion agenda. Seasoned flag barer Christopher Shannon continues to fly-high and never ones to rest on their much-loved laurels, New Power Studio charge forth through collaborations with milliner Nazir Mazhar and jeweller Scott Wilson. A swift injection of vitality comes from RCA graduate Astrid Andersen, a bastion of London’s modern menswear movement and a leading light in securing GB’s spot at the top of the style stakes for 2012. Street-cast and styled by Michael Mayren and Dominik Ridler, these two chaps are doing their bit to elevate the scene too. Their pictures are testament to the talents of Team GB; each piece tips more conventional menswear and traditional tailoring on its head, carrying a touch of delightful English eccentricity whilst remaining utterly wearable and mighty fine. Click the snaps to see them in all their gold-winning, glory.
