i-N Conversation: Gilles Peterson and Thristian bPm

Dark, lovely, polished and fine, Gilles Peterson and Thristian bPm are the full bodied boys, who won’t be washing their hair tonight. Let’s party.

Scouring the planet in search of perfect beats and pieces, Gilles Peterson is the go-to man for breakthrough talent. The focus of attention at every music event worth attending, Thristian bPm is the at ease MC with charisma and flow. Together Gilles and Thristian are THE musical match made in heaven. First accosting his mentor and mate, Thristian tracked down fellow Arsenal supporter, Gilles, to let him know just how much he admired the impact his award-winning, Brownswood record label had on fresh talent.

Today Gilles and Thristian can be found kicking it at Soho’s global Mekkah for hard-copy music, Sounds of The Universe. Sharing an all-consuming obsession with sound, both bumped uglies and decided to take their love to the streets. Hosting the appropriately entitled ‘Dark and Lovely’ at East London’s basement bar Plastic People, Gilles and Thristian have coined a night of straight-up, no frills fun. Globally inspired, their independent spinning ceremony is aimed at anyone who’s into good music, be that old, up-and-coming or unheard of. Wanna know what you can expect to hear? Roots, reggae, disco, ska, jazz, funk and hip pop. Cut a long story short, there’s not much the two of them won’t itch, scratch and mix. This is instinctive music for intelligent listening.

Get down to Plastic People tonight between 7pm – 3am! But before you do, Thristian and Gilles suggest you have a lovely listen to:
